Fellow travelers,
Thank you for taking the time and energy of visiting such a unique city as is Barcelona. I have been living here for 10 years, and I have become a local over the years, but I’ve arrived as a tourist like you did. So in this short list I want to share with you my go-to places and some insider information* that hopefully will make your stay more enjoyable, full of discovery and fun. Here it goes:
*Disclaimer- all of these places are completely SUBJECTIVE to my tastes and preferences, so I can’t be liable if you don’t like them 🤪 but I did my best to recommend what I like and all of them was tried by me beforehand.

My favorite tapas bar, good price, beautiful place, and very good food. Do try fried honey eggplant and the best “Ensaladilla Rusa” (Russian Salad), which is a must-try in Spain.
Best place to try patatas bravas- the best ones in Barcelona. They have a normal and a spicy version, so choose your pick!
Healthy food that is VERRRY good. They have several places around the city, so check any of them, they’re all good.
I grew up in Valencia, so for me the best and only (authentic) paella is the Valencian one, with chicken and rabbit. This place has one of the best paellas in Barcelona, where you can find the original version, but also the “invented” one by Catalans, with seafood and other creatures.
The most amazing steaks in Barcelona, in the most traditional and local restaurant. Steaks are well priced, and don’t forget to order pan con tomate (bread with tomato), grilled veggies, and french fries. Also their cheesecake is out of this world
